Hello from the notch

Hi. I’m Pliby, your personal Mac assistant. I live in the notch at the top of your screen, and when you need me, I come out.

You talk, I look

Hold Control+Option and say what you need. When you ask out loud, I can take a screenshot of your displays, so “what’s this error?” just works. If something is hard to describe, circle it with your cursor while you hold the shortcut, then ask about it.

Want to work quietly? Open Chat with Control+Shift+Space and type. Typed messages carry no screenshots, and I won’t touch anything on your screen from there. Tap Control twice and a compact chat opens right at the notch. Press Control+Shift+E and I’ll explain whatever is under your cursor.

I point before I click

My arrow follows your mouse and points at the things I’m talking about. Ask “how do I…” and I’ll walk you through it one step at a time; say “next”, “back” or “stop”. Ask me to click, drag, type or open an app and I’ll say what I’m about to do and show you the target first. Tap your shortcut and I stop.

Show me once

Say “record a workflow”, do the steps, then say “stop recording” and give it a name. Later, say “show me how to” plus the name and I’ll guide you, or “do” plus the name and I’ll do it.

Little ghosts for big errands

Say “start an agent to…” and I’ll hand off the research while you keep working. Each agent appears as a small ghost in the top-right corner. Click one to see how it’s doing. At most four run at once, and results come back to the notch.

Make me yours

Pick my name, colour, size, personality and providers, or swap me for your own PNG. Private mode uses your local chat endpoint and Apple speech, and pauses agents.

I need macOS 14.2 or later. Windows comes next, then Linux. Until then, I’ll be here in the notch.
